At last!!!! I am all set up in my new studio in the Dominican Republic. I have a comfortable and cozy place to work on my craft and I finally have a great seamstress that helps me with my designs. I feel like I am in heaven. I can work on my designs while somebody works on filling out the orders....its awesome!

My niece Alexa Valentina had her 5th birthday party on Saturday. The theme was the Lalalopsy dolls that they all love. This picture shows how beautiful they looked and how happy they were. It makes me sad that soon we will be moving to another country. They are so happy when they are together. :-(

A little simple pouch for back to school

Today I was thinking that maybe I should make something for the older girls. When most moms call me they usually tell me that they wished I had something for their older daughters because of the beautiful fabrics. Well, today I got the idea of this pouch. It is easy to make, beautiful and most of all, very useful. Girls can use it as a pencil case, as a pouch for their personal care stuff, makeup bag, etc. Even moms can use it too. The cool thing is that I make them with a nylon lining so that the exterior does not get dirty in case of an ink stain or lipstick. I think that maybe this will be the beginning of some new ideas to develop.

Many of my customers ask me how to care for the pieces I hand make for them. I am proud to say that I only use 100% Premium quality cottons and terry cloth. Caring for these materials is easy but here are a few tips I use to care for my own.

1. Cotton can be easily laundered. It can withstand high temperatures (boiling water does not hurt the fiber).
2. Any good detergent can be used to wash cotton.
3. Chlorine bleach can be used safely on cotton whites. Use color safe bleach on dyed cottons. I prefer to spot treat the pieces with OXY clean.
4. Since cotton fibers are fairly inelastic cotton fabrics may wrinkle easily. And, fabric may need frequent pressing.
5. For longer life of the piece, please line dry.
6. I like to iron burp cloths and bibs to make them look line new. With cotton a higher temperature setting is needed.

Setting up a Linkbar on my blogspot

Memorial day is here and I had to spend the whole day inside because of the rain. It has been raining the whole week and the kids can't go outside and play...bummer. I have so much to dooooooooooo and the kids wont let me work. But today I settled... I let them swim in the pool because I had to work. I was so excited by the quite time that I embraced it by giving a new look to my blog, do you like it?

Unfortunately, I have no html experience but I did it!!!! I just searched the web for the stuff I wanted to do and voila...I did it. But one thing struck me as odd, I didn't see a linkbar gadget on my blogger. I was growing dissapointed when I found that one of my favorite bloggers (haptree and me) had a tutorial for this.

In just a couple of minutes I had my linkbar up and running, so I thought that sharing it with you guys would be only fair. My kids were happy too because I could hang out with them for a little while.

I hope you enjoy setting it up!

But remember to save your templates before editing, that way you won't lose any information in case you make a mistake.

Wow! I haven't blogged for 10 months!!!!

The truth is that I haven't been able to because I have so much on my plate, but that doesn't mean that I am out forever. I'm going to make a habit of it, I promise!

Right now we (me + husband + kids) are homeless… we sold our apartment and we're living in my mother's pool house (not as bad as it sounds). The truth is that this place is to small for all of us. Also, we bought a fixer upper house, but we are waiting for construction permits (and if you are puertorican you know this might take forever).

So we more or less live in a space of 450 square feet were we have:

a room for me + husband +kids - we have a hippie commune

we have space for small living room I mean really small

my sewign studio which is the biggest space of them all

two walking closests

one small bathroom

how did we fit all that into such a small space....beats me? But we are HAPPY!

And now that we are in summer I have the kids in the house, or as I like to call it, the shoe box, all day long. I cant wait for camp to start!

Nueva Coleccion 2009!!!

Estoy trabajando nuevamente luego de estar un tiempo fuera del taller. Nuevas ideas fluyen y nuevas telas me inspiran...asi que esten pendientes al grupo de facebook y/o al blog para las nuevas fotos.

Estoy envolviendo las cositas ahora para que cuando las recojan esten listas para regalar. Espero que les guste.

Recuerden siempre llamar con tiempo ya que necesito tiempo de produccion.

Nuevas telas para escoger

En estas ultimas semanas me he recibido una gran cantidad de diferentes telas para poder crear diseños unicos para cada una de mis clientas, ya que como muchas saben, no me gusta repetir modelos. Aqui les muestro algunos de mis nuevas creaciones para que tomen ideas de lo que les gustaria que les creara. Acuerdense de llamarme con tiempo para sus pedidos!!!

Siempre quiero estar creando cositas nuevas para poder abarcar mas mercado asi que utilizando los "coverbuttons" cree estas nuevas hebillitas las cual empaco en latas de metal con tope transparente. Son super modernas y diferentes. Desde que las puse en facebook, han causado sensacion y me las piden constantemente. Pero lo malo es que toman tiempo de produccion y no las estoy haciendo todos los dias, asi que tan pronto como tenga disponible se los dejare saber mediante facebook. Tambien estoy tomando ordenes especiales con descuentos de 6 o mas para regalos. Asi que si tienes muchos cumpleaños por ahi, me llamas con tiempo y te hago un buen mix ya que estas hebillitas hacen un excelente regalito. Tambien las estoy haciendo con moñitos para las niñas mas pequeñas....y en estoy dias abran otras cositas nuevas asi que esten pendientes.

Ultimamente tengo la musa presente que me da luz para seguir disenando cosas nuevas. Ya las puse en facebook y la reaccion ha sido excelente. Y todavia las que faltan!!!! En estas ultimas semanas he creado desde bultitos hasta hebillas para ninas. La verdad que parece que el verano me inspira.

En estos dias le estare tomando fotos a mas cositas para postearlas asi que mantenganse en contacto. Muchas gracias a todas las clientas y amigas que me han dejado sus comentarios tan lindos en facebook. La verdad que les agradezco muchisimo su apoyo.

PAÑITOS NUEVOS!!!!

Hola!!! ~ He realizado a traves de la experiencia con mis hijos y sobrinitos, que los pañitos de bebes que he hecho hasta ahora, desmerecen rapidamente con la lavadora y para que no sea asi, tenemos que pasar muchisimo trabajo de lavarlos a mano y plancharlos. Y quien tiene tiempo de lavar a mano y mas de planchar? Asi que de ahora en adelante, estare haciendo yo misma los "burp cloths" o pañitos, con telas de algodon y chenille (que seria el lado absorbente de los mismos). Aqui les adjunto alguna de las fotos de mis creaciones. Los mismos pueden ser bordados de igual manera y estoy segura que poco a poco los ire adaptando para introducir nuevos diseños. Por ahora, aqui pueden ver fotos de algunos de los que he hecho hasta ahora. Si estan interesadas, porfavor les pido que me llamen con tiempo para ordernarlos. Al igual que si estan interesadas en los pañitos tradicionales, estoy dispuesta a hacerlos, no es que no los hare mas, pero solo por pedido especial. YA SABEN!!! Estos pañitos los puedo coordinar para hacer un set de regalo para niño o niña. Actualmente solo tengo disponible el chenille en blanco y rosa pero en estos dias me estara llegando una gran gama de colores para escoger.
SABANITAS ~

Para todas aquellas que no le gusten los encanjes y el crochet (generalmente a mi clientas no le gustan), estoy haciendo ahora las sabinitas de balleta pero sin el "trim". Aqui va una fotito de una que tengo hecha para una clienta. Tengo una variedad extensa de telas disponibles al igual que me estan llegando constantemente telas para escoger. Asi que cualquiera que sea tu gusto estoy segura que podemos hacer algo para complacerte.

Tienes regalitos de bebes que hacer?

Como prometido....aqui tienen algunas fotos de mi coleccion de creaciones. Definitivamente faltan muchisimas mas, pero poco a poco ire incluyendo proyectos a la pagina, asi que chequeen regularmente. Tambien estare enviando unpdates del blog a traves de Facebook. Asi que ya saben: si tienen un shower, o un regalo que hacer para bebe, se comunican conmigo por Facebook o a mi celular: 787-667-2332 y con gusto les hago un regalito de bebe bien "Fassion".

Tambien pueden postear comentarios en esta pagina ya que la chequeo regularmente.

Hola!!!!! A peticion popular he creado este blog para postear fotos de mis creaciones de costura y otras cositas....aqui van. Poco a poco, y mientras vaya creando nuevos proyectos los ire posteando para todas.
